thereon to be paid by the town, conditioned for the faithful
performance of the duty of such officer as collector of the town
tax and the payment of the same over the Treasurer of the
town and for the faithful performance of such other duties as
shall be imposed on him by the ordinances which may be passed
in reference to the time and manner of payment and collection
of said town tax; if the Treasurer of the town shall be selected
for the collection of the town tax his said bond shall be con-
ditioned so as to protect the funds of the town in any event;
the person selected to collect the town taxes may enforce the
payment of the same in the same manner and with like effect
as the collector of State and County taxes.

SEC. 83N. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners, and
all other officers of said town, before they enter upon the duties
of their respective offices, shall take severally the following
oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully
execute the office of................................ to the

best of my knowledge and ability, without favor, affection or
partiality. ''

SEC. 830. And be it enacted, That the Mayor of the town,
by virtue of his office, shall have and exercise, within the limits
of the town, ail the jurisdiction and power of a Justice of the
Peace in misdemeanors and may fine and imprison offenders
who may be found guilty by him of riotous or disorderly con-
duct, or disturbances of the peace, or by driving or riding
through the streets, roads or thoroughfares of the town with
automobile, motorcycle, bicycle, carriage, wagon or other vehi-
cle, or on horse back, so as to endanger the lives, limbs or prop-
erty of the citizens, or disturb the quiet enjoyment of the streets,
roads -and thoroughfares, whether the same be public or private,
or for violations of any ordinances which may be passed by
the Commissioners of said town; and he may call on any officer
of the town entrusted with the receipt and expenditure of the
moneys of the town for a statement of his accounts as often as
he shall see proper; and he shall see that the ordinances are
faithfully executed and report to the town Commissioners at
their stated meetings the general condition of the town and may
call special meetings of the Commissioners whenever he may
see proper.

SEC. 83P. And be U enacted, That on or before the day
next preceding any annual election, the Commissioners of the
town shall post in three public places in the town, a full, de-
