CHAPTER 76.
AN ACT to repeal Section 227 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title
"Trappe," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 227 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County," sub-title "Trappe,''
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
SEC. 227. The Commissioners of the Town of Trappe shall
have full power and authority to levy, annually, upon the as-
sessable property of the said town, by direct tax, with full power
to provide, by ordinance, for the collection of same, such sum
of money, (not exceeding fifty cents) on the One Hundred Dol-
lars ($100) of the assessable property, within the limits of the
said Town of Trappe, as may be necessary, in their judgment
for the purposes of defraying the expenses of said town.

CHAPTER 77.
AN ACT authorizing, empowering and directing the Judges of
the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County to appoint a court
stenographer and typist, and prescribing the duties and com-
pensation for said office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Judges of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel
County be, and they are hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to appoint a court stenographer and typist for said
County, who shall be a sworn officer of said Court, and said
stenographer and typist so appointed shall be paid, as compen-
sation for his or her services, at the rate of Twelve Hundred
Dollars ($12,00.00) per annum, payable in monthly installments,
which compensation shall be levied for by the County Com-
missioners of Anne Arundel County as a, part of the court
expenses, and be paid by the County Treasurer of said County
as other salaried officials are paid.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the court stenographer and
typist so appointed shall hold his position during the pleasure
of said Judges of said court, and it shall be his or her duty to
