same is not done in violation of this Act, unless said bait were
procured from the owners of enclosed ponds.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any person, firm,
partnership or corporation violating any of the provisions of
this Act shall upon conviction thereof before any Justice of
the Peace in said Washington County, be fined not less than
Ten Dollars, nor more than Fifty Dollars, and in default of
payment of any fine so imposed and costs shall be sentenced to
the jail of said Washington County for not less than ten days,
nor more than sixty days in the discretion of the Justice of the
Peace.

SEC. 3. And be it still further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 578.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of Salisbury to
borrow thirty thousand dollars and to issue bonds for the
payment of the same, for the purpose of making certain public
improvements in the City of Salisbury, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Salisbury be and the said
corporation is hereby authorized to issue bonds to be designated
"Public Improvement Bonds," not to exceed thirty thousand
dollars ($30,000.00) in the aggregate, on the faith and credit
of the City of Salisbury, Wicomico County, State of Maryland,
for the purpose of grading, paving, curbing and draining Mill
street, South Division street, West Railroad avenue and East
Main street, or so much thereof as may be deemed expedient,
in the said City, and for the further purpose of liquidating and
funding the existing unbonded indebtedness of the said City or
so much thereof as may be deemed expedient.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said bonds are issued
they shall be issued for not less than one hundred dollars or
multiples thereof and of such denominations as the Council may
by Ordinance determine and shall bear interest at a rate not
exceeding four and one-half per centum (4 1/2%) per annum,
payable semi-annually, and shall be signed by the Mayor of
Salisbury and countersigned by the Clerk of Salisbury, and shall
