974 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Section 131-A, and be known as Section 131-B, providing for
the maintenance of an office in Washington by the Commis-
sioner of Motor Vehicles.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Section be added to Article 56 of the Code
of 1904 of the Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Li-
censes," sub-title "Motor Vehicles," as amended by Chapter
207 of the Acts of 1910 and Chapter 68 of the Acts of 1912,
to follow Section 131-A and to be known as Section 131-B, to
read as follows:

131-B. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall have
charge of the location and maintenance of the office provided
for in the aforegoing Section, and shall appropriate for this
purpose, such sums as may be necessary, not exceeding the
sum of Six Hundred Dollars per annum out of the funds col-
lected by said Commissioner, for the location and maintenance
of a suitable office and the employment of such additional
clerical assistance as may from time to time be necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 577.

AN ACT to prevent the sale and carrying, sending, shipping or
carrying of any live bass bait known as scale bait, stony cats

or mad toms out of or away from Washington County, Mary-
land (unless procured from the owners of enclosed ponds).

SECTION 1. Be it .enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partner-
ship or corporation to sell and carry, send, ship or carry, out of
or from Washington County, or sell or dispose of or furnish to
any person for the purpose of taking the same out of or from
Washington County at any time, any live, bass bait known as
scale bait, stony cats or mad toms; and the carrying, sending or
shipping from or out of said Washington County, shall consti-
tute prima facie evidence of the violation of this Act, and the
burden of proof shall be upon the person, firm, partnership or
corporation so taking, carrying, sending or shipping any live
bass bait, known as scale bait, stony cats or mad toms, that the
