ners, at a cost to said Board of not exceeding two thousand five
hundred dollars in addition to such sum as said Board may ac-
quire from the sale or exchange of the present Blair's School
Building and site.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That upon the petition of
the Mayor and Council of the Town of Takoma Park in said
County supported by an acceptable showing to the effect that
the present public school building in said town will not be suf-
ficient to suitably house the Montgomery County children to
attend said school for the next ensuing school term in advance
of which such petition and showing shall be presented to said
Board, it shall be the duty of the Board of County School Com-
missioners of said County to present the same to the County
Commissioners of said County, and upon the provision by said
County Commissioners of the necessary funds, to erect, equip,
remodel or make suitable reconstruction of a public school
building in the Town of Takoma Park in Montgomery County
as said Board of School Commissioners may deem necessary or
desirable at a total cost not exceeding five thousand dollars; pro-
vided that it may be lawful for said Board of County School
Commissioners to sell or exchange the present school property
and utilize the proceeds therefrom in addition to said sum of
five thousand dollars in the purchase or construction of a new
building and a site therefor to be situated in said Town and
County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That to provide for the
construction and equipment of the new school building and site
mentioned in the First Section of this Act, it shall be the duty
of the County Commissioners of said County, either by a special
levy to be made on the taxable property of said County at its
next levy or by the sale of the necessary bonds hereinafter
authorized to procure and turn over to the Board of County
School Commissioners of Montgomery County the sum of twenty-
five hundred dollars.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County be, and it is hereby author-
ized and empowered in its discretion, to issue bonds to an
amount not exceeding seven thousand five hundred dollars, in
sums of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than five
hundred dollars each, to be signed by the President of said
Board of County Commissioners and countersigned by the Clerk
of said Board and sealed with its seal, and dated on the day
of their issue and bear interest at a rate not to exceed five per
