County from three to five, and for dividing Baltimore County
into five Commissioner Districts, and to provide for the nomi-
nation and election of said Commissioners, and to change the
term of the office of County Commissioner from two to four
years, to fix the salary of said County Commissioners at
twenty-four hundred dollars, and to repeal the provisions of
said Article allowing the County Commissioners of said County
additional compensation as members of the Highways Commis-
sion of said County, and providing that said County Com-
missioners shall have and exercise all the power now exercised
by the Highways Commission of Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 65 of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 495 of the Acts of
1908 of the General Assembly of Maryland, title "Baltimore
County," sub-title "County Commissioners," be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, and that
two new Sections to be known as Sections 65-A and 65-B of said
Article are hereby enacted; said Sections 65 as re-enacted 65-A
and 65-B to be in lieu of Section 65 of said Article, the whole
to read as follows:
65. There shall be five County Commissioners of Baltimore
County who shall hold office for the term of four years and shall
be eligible for re-election. They shall each receive an annual
salary of twenty-four hundred dollars and no more for any
purpose whatsoever, payable monthly by the Treasurer of said
County; and they are required to meet for the transaction of
public business, at their office at Towson on Tuesday, Wednes-
day and Thursday of each week, and as much oftener as a
proper discharge of their official duties may require; and they
shall meet daily from the first Tuesday in March in each year
until the annual levy is made. Said Board of County Commission-
ers shall perform all the duties of the Highways Commission of
Baltimore County, and shall have all and singular the powers
and authority conferred upon the Highways Commission of Bal-
timore County by Chapter 465 of the Acts of 1904 and the sev-
eral amendments and supplements thereto.
65-A. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore
County prior to any primary election at which candidates for
the office of County Commissioner for Baltimore County may
be selected shall require that each candidate for the office of
County Commissioner of Baltimore County shall in addition to
the other statements required by law, embody in his certificate
