General Assembly of Maryland of 1870, which Act is amenda-
tory of Chapter 119 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1866, incorporating the Union Railroad Company
of Baltimore.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section (10) Ten as set out in Section 10 of Chap-
ter 412 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland oi
1870, which Act is amendatory of Chapter 119 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1866, incorporating the Union
Railroad Company of Baltimore, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
10. And be it enacted, That the time-table and rates of
charges for tolls and freight shall be under the sole control and
management of the President and Directors of said Company,
or a majority of them, but all railroad companies shall have the
right, upon equal terms, to run their locomotives and cars over
the tracks of the said Company, and no discrimination in rates
of toll, or in any other respect, shall ever be made in favor of
any company; provided, that the said Union Railroad Com-
pany shall not charge for the use of the road a sum exceeding
the rate of five cents per ton per mile for tolls for use of
said road for every mile or proportionate part of a mile, and
for passengers a sum not exceeding the rate of ten cents per
passenger per mile, or proportionate part of a mile for each
passenger, provided, further, however, that full power is here-
by conferred upon the Public Service Commission of Maryland,
with directions to hereafter change, fix and prescribe .such rates
and tolls as it shall deem reasonable upon the application of any
person or corporation interested therein, in accordance with and
subject to the provisions of Chapter 180 of the Acts of 1910 of
the Laws of Maryland, and the amendments thereto, known as
the Public Service Commission Law.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 444.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of G. W.
Maddox for supplies furnished by him for the account of the
State Fishery Force from September 1, 1900, to September 20,
1908, while Captain of the "Bessie Jones."
