or printed signature of the Treasurer of said corporation alone.
Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of five per centum
per annum, payable semi-annually in each and every year, and
dated on the first day of their issue. Said bonds shall be num-
bered consecutively, and Bond No. 1 shall be due and payable
one year from the date of its issue, and thereafter a bond shall
mature and be payable each consecutive year from the maturity
of Bond No. 1. in the order of the consecutive numbers of said
bonds. Said bonds shall have printed on them a distinct refer-
ence to this Act as directing the issuance of the same, and shall
be exempt from taxation for State, County and Municipal pur-
poses.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
sell said bonds at public or private sale, but no bond shall be
sold for less than its par or face value, and accrued interest
thereon. The proceeds of said bonds shall be deposited in bank
in the name of '' The Town Commissioners of Centreville, Com-
merce Street Fund," and shall be withdrawn only by checks
signed by the Treasurer of said corporation, countersigned by
at least one other municipal commissioner, and shall be ex-
clusively appropriated and applied to the cost of grading and
improving the said Commerce Street from curb to curb with
stone or other material of a permanent character adapted to
durability, wear and tear, and as may be agreed upon between
the Town Commissioners of Centreville, and the State Roads
Commission, and not to ordinary repairs of said street or the
making or repairing sidewalks, and the use of oyster shells as
the material for said improvement is hereby prohibited. But
any interest on said bonds accrued at time of sale of same shall
be applied to the payment of the interest due or to become due
on said bonds by the terms of same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said municipal corpora-
tion shall have and is hereby given full power and authority
to grade and improve the bed of said Commerce Street from
curb to curb, to make contracts for that purpose, to determine in
what manner and what part of said street shall be graded and
improved, and what material shall be used for such improve-
ment, whether brick, macadam, stone or such other material as
shall meet the requirements of this Act, to agree with the said
State Roads Commission, in the event the said State Roads Com-
mission shall determine to extend the State Road through said
Town of Centreville over said street, for the building of said
road from curb to curb and to determine what part of the cost
