Commissioners have accepted his work, and so certified to the
County Commissioners, and in case no proper or reasonable
bid shall be received, the Road Commissioners shall proceed to
have the same done under their supervision, and the County
Commissioners shall levy for their use such sum or sums as they
shall certify is necessary to have the work properly done.

SECTION 7. And be it enacted, That all amounts, devoted to
the road fund of Calvert County by special legislation shall be
paid over to the President of the said Road Commissioners to
be used for the building and repairing of the said public roads
as contemplated by this Act and to be deposited by him in bank
to the credit of the said Road Commissioners, subject to his or-
der, attested by the Secretary, and the said Road Commissioners
shall give bond, with, security to be approved by the County
Commissioners, to the State of Maryland in the penalty of
the sum of one thousand ($1,000) dollars for the proper cus-
tody, use and expenditure of all money coming into their hands
as said Road Commissioners, which bond shall be filed in the
office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert County.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted. That the County Commissioners
of Calvert County at their annual meeting for the levying of
the County taxes shall levy upon the assessable basis of the
County such sum of money as the said Road Commissioners
shall notify them in writing will be required for the building
and keeping in repair the public roads in Calvert County for
one year, not, however, to exceed the sum of five thousand
($5,000) dollars, and it shall be the duty of the said Road
Commissioners to give the said notice to the said County Com-
missioners at least ten days before their meeting to make the
annual levy, and the said Road Commissioners shall keep an
account showing the number, date and amount and to whom
payable of each order drawn by them on the Treasurer of the
County and all orders so drawn by them shall be paid by the
Treasurer when presented out of any money he may have in
hand for the purpose, not exceeding, however, the amount levied
for road purposes. And the said Road Commissioners, at the
close of the year for which they are appointed, shall furnish to
the County Commissioners a full and complete account showing
all money received by them and the manner in which the same
has been by them expended, giving in detail the persons to
whom the same was paid, the amounts so paid and the purpose
for which it was expended, and the County Commissioners shall
