SECTION 2. An be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 399.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 622 of the Laws of 1908, entitled "An
Act to provide for the repairs of the Public Roads of Calvert
County," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 622 of the Laws of 1908, entitled "An Act
to provide for the repairs of the Public Roads of Calvert
County," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
to read as follows:
SECTION 2. And be it enacted, That on or before the first
Monday in March, 1916, and on or before the first Monday in
March in every year thereafter, the State Central Committee of
the Republican party for Calvert County shall appoint one well-
known and competent Republican and the State Central Com-
mittee of the Democratic party for Calvert County shall ap-
point one well-known and competent Democrat, and the two
men so appointed shall constitute a commission to be styled the
Road Commissioners of Calvert County, and they shall hold
office for one year from the date of their appointment, or until
their successors are appointed and qualify as herein provided,
and in the case of a vacancy occurring by death or otherwise, the
vacancy shall be filled by the committee which made the original
appointment. The appointment herein above provided for shall
be certified by the said respective committees to the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Calvert County and the said certificate
shall be filed by him and retained in his office as evidence of
the said appointments.
