PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 601

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Five Hundred ($500) Dollars be and
the same is hereby appropriated, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to pay, upon the warrant of the Comp-
troller, the said sum of Five Hundred ($500) Dollars to Car-
ville D. Benson, Chairman of the said Joint Commission on
behalf of the State of Maryland, being the expenses of said
Commission as above stated.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 374.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of Mc-
Dowell & Company, Incorporated, for vacuum cleaners fur-
nished the General Assembly of Maryland of 1914.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the State, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the Treasurer
of the State for the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars for
vacuum cleaners furnished the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1914.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 375.

AN ACT providing for the purchase by the State of Maryland of
certain copies of "Side-Lights on Maryland History," and
for the distribution thereof, and making an appropriation
therefor.

WHEREAS, The Ninth State Conference of the Maryland
Daughters of the American Revolution, held in the Old Senate
Chamber at Annapolis, in November last, passed a unanimous
resolution of endorsement and appreciation of the great service
rendered the State of Maryland by their State Historian, Mrs.
