534 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 342.

AN ACT to repeal Section 114A, Article 77 of the Code of Public
General Laws of 1904, as enacted by Chapter 505 of the Acts
of 1910.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 114A, Article 77 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws be and the same is hereby repealed.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 343.

AN ACT to add a new Section to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, Article 4, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title
'' Charter,'' to follow Section 104 and to be designated 104-A;
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 118 of
said Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City
of Baltimore,'' sub-title '' Charter.''

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Section is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws, Article. 4, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title
"Charter," to follow Section 104 and to be designated 104-A,
and to read as follows:

104-A. The Supervisors of City Charities shall also have
supervision over those persons committed to the criminal, penal
and reformatory institutions with which the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore have contracts, and shall perform such
other duties as may be prescribed by ordinance, not inconsistent
with this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 118 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, Article 4, title "City of Baltimore,"
sub-title "Charter," be, and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:

118. The Visitors of the Jail shall be the second sub-depart-
ment of Charities and Corrections, and the head of this sub-
department shall be a board consisting of nine persons, ap-
pointed by the Mayor in the manner prescribed in Section 25
of this Article, who shall hold their offices as therein provided.
They shall serve without pay. One of their number shall be
designated by the Mayor, who shall be President of said Vis-
itors, and the said Visitors shall elect from their number a
