purse net, pound net, fyke net, gill net, haul seine, sturgeon
net, skirt net, or other similar device used as aforesaid; and
such license when issued shall be good until the first day of
May, next following, and no longer. Any non-resident of the
State of Maryland, any co-partnership or joint stock company
composed in whole or in part of persons non-resident of the
State of Maryland, any corporation incorporated other than
under the laws of the State of Maryland, desiring or proposing
to fish for market or profit, other than for personal or domestic
consumption, personally, or by agents and employes, with any
purse net, pound net, fyke net, gill net, haul seine, sturgeon
net, skirt net, or other similar device in the waters of the At-
lantic Ocean aforesaid, within the jurisdiction of the State of
Maryland, in Worcester County, shall first apply to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Worcester County, for license as afore-
said, and shall state on oath the true name or names of the
person or persons applying for license, their residence or prin-
cipal place of business, the number, size and character of the
net or nets, trap or traps, as above enumerated, to be used as
aforesaid, as accurately as may be, so that if possible the said
net or nets, as above enumerated, will be easily identified from
the description given thereof; and that during the period of
the license they will not violate any of the local or public general
laws of the State in relation to the taking and catching of
fish; provided, however, that this Act shall not apply to any
person using a net solely for the purpose of supplying fish for
his personal or domestic consumption, and provided that no
restriction shall apply to bona fide residents of the State of
Maryland, who shall have the right to fish in said waters of the
Atlantic Ocean at all times for market, or profit, or otherwise,
and with such nets or other devices as they see fit, consistent
with existing laws; and the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wor-
cester County shall thereupon grant license to use such net or
other device, and state in such license the name or names of the
person or persons, firm, company or corporation who shall use
the same, the season for which said license is granted, which sea-
son shall begin on the first day of May and end on the thirtieth
day of April of the year following, and the amount of the tax
as hereinafter provided; and for granting such license the said
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Worcester County shall, in addi-
tion to the cost of the license, charge and collect a fee of one dol-
lar for each net license issued by him, and the charges for
licenses as herein specified shall not be abated, pro rated or
diminished because issued for less than one whole year.
