CHAPTER 29.

AN ACT to amend the charter of The Baltimore and Ocean City
Railway Company incorporated under the Public General
Laws of Maryland as amended by Chapter 767 of the Laws of
Maryland of 1906 and by Chapter 74 of the Laws of Mary-
land of 1908, and to change the name thereof to "The Wash-
. ington and Maryland Railway Company. ''

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the name of the said '' The Baltimore and Ocean City
Railway Company'' be and is hereby changed to '' The Washing-
ton and Maryland Railway Company. ''

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the board of directors of
said corporation shall consist of seven members or such greater
number as may be fixed by its by-laws.

SEC. B. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved March 4th, 1914.

CHAPTER 30.

AN ACT to authorized the Clerk of the Circuit Court for How-
ard County to arrange for the indexing of deeds and mort-
gages in said County, and to provide for the payment thereof
by authorizing the County Commissioners to levy therefor.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 31.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Charles
County, Maryland, to sell a tract of land belonging to said
Charles County, commonly known as the "Alms House tract, "
and to convey the same by deed to the purchaser or purchasers
thereof and to turn the proceeds into the County Treasury to
be used for County purposes as may by law be directed.

WHEREAS, The Alms House for Charles County having been
destroyed by fire and the tract of land lying and situate in the
First Election District of said Charles County, Maryland, known
as the Alms House tract of land has now no buildings thereon
suitable for charitable purposes and the location thereof now
