322-A. No female person, who may accompany or who may
be in charge of, or who may have the custody of any musical in-
strument or device, shall solicit or accept any money or thing
of value from any person upon any highway, street, or in any
ordinary, saloon, tavern, restaurant, lunch-room, or any other
public place in this State, unless such person shall solicit aid
for purely charitable purposes.

322-B. Any person violating the preceding Section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be imprisoned not more than sixty days in the Mary-
land House of Correction, or fined not more than $100, or both
fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 30th, 1914.

CHAPTER 161.

AN ACT to refund to Louis P. Samanni, of Baltimore City, ten-
twelfths of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars
($160.00), paid for ordinary and cigarette licenses for twelve
months, from May 1, 1911, the licenses having been used only
to and including June 30, 1911.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller is hereby directed to issue his war-
rant upon the Treasurer payable to Louis P. Samanni for the
amount of $123.75, said amount being the ten-twelfths of the
sum of $150.00 paid by the said Louis P. Samanni to Adam
Deupert, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas for Baltimore
City for ordinary licenses issued to said Louis P. Samanni to
be an ordinary keeper at southwest corner of Charles and
Centre streets, Baltimore City, to continue in force from May
1, 1911, to May 1, 1912, but said licenses having been in force
only until June 30, 1911, and being unused thereafter.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That the Comptroller is hereby directed to issue his warrant
upon the Treasurer payable to Louis P. Samanni for the
amount of $8.26, said amount being ten-twelfths of the sum of
$100.00 paid by the said Louis P. Samanni to Adam Deupert,
Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas for Baltimore City for cig-
