sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-nine Dollars and Seventeen
Cents ($229.17) for a license to sell spirituous and fermented
liquors and lager beer at the Blue Mountain House, in Wash-
ington County, Maryland, from the 1st day of June, 1913, to
the 1st day of May, 1914, which said sum of Two Hundred and
Twenty-nine Dollars and Seventeen Cents ($229.17) was paid
by the said Edward Oswald, in accordance with the provisions
of the Act of 1908, Chapter 380, one fourth thereof, or Fifty-
Seven Dollars and Twenty-nine Cents ($57.29), to the Treasurer
of Maryland, and three-fourths, thereof, or One Hundred and
Seventy-one Dollars and Eighty-eight Cents ($171.88) to the
Tax Collector of Washington County; and

WHEREAS, On the said 19th day of June, 1913, the said Bond
& Gibbons, also, paid to the said Edward Oswald, Clerk, the
further sum of One Hundred and Thirty-seven Dollars and
Thirty-seven-cents ($137.37) for a license to keep an ordinary
at the said Blue Mountain House from the said 1st day of June,
1913, to the said 1st day of May, 1914, which said sum of One
Hundred and Thirty-seven Dollars and Thirty-seven Cents
($137.37) was paid over by the said Edward Oswald, Clerk, to
the Treasurer of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, The said Blue Mountain House was completely de-
stroyed by fire on the 5th day of August, 1913, and has not been
rebuilt, and the said Bond & Gibbons were thereby and there-

after deprived of any benefit of said licenses and were thereby
prevented from selling either spirituous or fermented liquors
or lager beer or from keeping an ordinary at the said place.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the proportionate parts of said licenses from the
1st day of September, 1913, to the 1st day of May, 1914, be
refunded to the said H. C. Bond and John J. Gibbons, partners,
trading as Bond & Gibbons, and the County Commissioners of
Washington County are hereby authorized and directed to re-
fund and pay to the said Bond & Gibbons the sum of One Hun-
dred and Twenty-five Dollars and One Cent ($125.01), being
the proportionate part from September 1st, 1913, to May 1st,

14, of three-fourths of the money paid by the said Bond &
Gibbons for the said license to sell spirituous and fermented
liquors and lager beer received by the said County Commis-
sioners of Washington County, and that, upon the warrant of
the Comptroller the Treasurer of Maryland is hereby authorized
and directed to refund and pay to the said Bond & Gibbons
the sum of Forty-one Dollars and Sixty-seven Cents ($41.67),
