PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 1401

State Armory Building Commission No. 1, for the acquisition
of ground and erection thereon of a State Armory in Elkton,
or such other place as may be determined upon by said Com-
mission, $30,000;

State Armory Building Commission No. 2, for the acquisition
of ground and erection thereon of a State Armory in the town
of Bel Air, or such other place as may be determined upon by
said Commission, $30,000;

Provided, however, that before the money herein appropriated
shall be paid over to the above respective persons, commis-
sions or bodies politic, said persons, commissions or bodies
politic shall first file with the Comptroller a full and detailed
statement wherefrom it shall clearly appear that the money to
be paid hereunder will be sufficient to accomplish the respective
purposes herein set forth.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That a Building Com-
mission is hereby created to be known as '' The Fourth Regiment
Armory Building Commission," which shall consist of the Gov-
ernor, Comptroller of the Treasury, Treasurer, Adjutant Gen-
eral, Mayor of the City of Baltimore, Colonel, Lieutenant
Colonel and three Majors of the Fourth Regiment Infantry,
Maryland National Guard, and the Commission so created is
hereby authorized to acquire in the City of Baltimore, in the
name of the State of Maryland, either by purchase or condemna-
tion, a suitable site upon which to build an armory, and to make
all necessary preliminary contracts for the construction and
equipment of the same.

SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That a Building Com-
mission is hereby created to be known as "The State Armory
Building Commission No. 1," which shall consist of the Ad-
jutant General, the Commanding Officer of the First Regiment,
Maryland National Guard, the Commanding Officer of the Com-
pany stationed in the place where the Armory is to be located,
and two other persons to be appointed by the Governor. The
Commission so created is hereby authorized to acquire in the
name of the State of Maryland, by either purchase or condem-
nation, a suitable site upon which to build an armory, and to
make all necessary contracts for the construction and equipment
of the same.
