about to be issued, and all payable May 1, 1915; which said
bonds are to be redeemed and paid out of the sum of Twenty-
five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars levied as aforesaid; and,
WHEREAS, The proceeds of said bonds and the said levy of
Twenty-five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars in each of said years
are to be applied to the permanent improvement under said
Shoemaker Law of the roads mentioned and described in said
Chapter 74; and,
WHEREAS, The proceeds of said bonds and the sum levied as
aforesaid will be insufficient to complete the work unless the
Road Directors for Allegany County are relieved of the pay-
ment of the said bonds. Therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Allegany County are
authorized and directed on or before the first day of May, in
the year of 1915, to issue their bonds and sell the same in the
amount of Thirty Thousand ($30,000.00) Dollars, said bonds to
be coupon bonds in denomination of not less than Five Hundred
($500.00) Dollars each, nor more than One Thousand ($1,000.00)
Dollars each, to be signed by the President of the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County, countersigned by the Clerk of
the County Commissioners of Allegany County under the cor-
porate seal of said County Commissioners, said bonds to become
due and payable on or before the first day of May, 1916, and to
bear interest at a rate not exceeding five per centum (5%) per
annum, payable semi-annually, said bonds to be exempt from
all County and municipal taxation; the proceeds of which said
bonds are to be used for the payment of Thirty Thousand
($30,000.00) Dollars of bonds issued and to be issued by said
County Commissioners under the authority of the Acts of As-
sembly of 1912, Chapter 74, and the Road Directors of Allegany
County be and they are hereby relieved of the payment of bonds
issued under said Acts of Assembly of 1912, Chapter 74, and
the funds therein provided for the payment of said bonds shall
be expended for permanent road work under the so-called Shoe-
maker Law on the roads or sections of roads mentioned and
described in said Chapter 74, Acts of 1912.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its issue.
