CHAPTER 60.

22, 1862.

AN ACT to change the name of Samuel Edwin
Ridout Hyde, of Anne Arundel county, to Sam-
uel Ridout Hyde.

Name changed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the name of Samuel Edwin Ri-
dout Hyde be changed to Samuel Ridout Hyde.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 61.

13, 1861.

AN ACT to repeal the thirty-third, section of the
tenth Article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to the town of Cambridge in Dorchester
county, and to enact the following as a substi-
tute therefor.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the thirty-third section of the
tenth Article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to the town of Cambridge, in Dorchester
county, be and the same is hereby repealed and
the following enacted as a substitute therefor.

Election of
Commissioner.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the free white
male inhabitants of said town, above the age of
twenty-one years, who have resided within the
limits of said town for one year next preceding the
election, and free white male persons above the age
of twenty-one years, not residents of said town,
having a freehold estate or leasehold property for
a term exceeding twenty-one years in said town,
shall, on the second Saturday of March annually,
at the court house in said town, elect a person, re-
siding in said town or within three miles thereof,
and possessed of landed property in the town, in
his own right or in right of his wife, a Commis-
