616 TITLES OF THE LAWS.

228. An act to repeal the seventy-ninth, eightieth, eigh-
ty-first, eighty-second, eighty-third, eighty-fourth, eighty-
fifth and eighty-sixth sections of the thirty-fifth Article of
the Code of Public General Laws, relating to elections, and
to substitute in lieu thereof the following.

229. An act for the relief of Edward Hammond, former
Collector of the Second Collection District of Anne Arundel
county.

230 An act to amend the seventh section of the twenty-
second article of the Code of Public General Laws, relating
to the office of the Comptroller.

231. An act appropriating a sum of money for the payment
of the claims of Charles Reeder, Philip T. Tyson, and the
estate of Thomas Gardner.

232. An act to compensate Edwin H. Webster, Ezekiel F.
Chambers, William H. Dallam and Henry Stockbridge, for
legal services rendered by order of the Governor.

233. An act to compensate Thomas S. Alexander for pro-
fessional services rendered by him under appointment by the
Governor in the Circuit Court for Harford county, sitting in
equity, and the Court of Appeals, in the case of the State of
Maryland vs. A. Lingan Jarrett and Sprigg Harwood.

234. An act to amend an act to provide for the erection of
a Hospital for the Insane in this State.

235. An act to amend section two hundred and two of Ar-
ticle thirty of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
crimes and punishments, by defining treason and providing
for the punishment of treason and other kindred offences.

236. An act to add a new section to Article eighty-one of
the Code of Public General Laws, in relation to the duties of
State's Attorneys, to come in after section eighty-three of said
article.

237. An act to repeal an act passed on the twentieth of
June, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, at the extra session of
the General Assembly, chapter seventy-two, entitled, An act
to make valid the qualification of Tench Tilghman as Major
General of the Second Division of Maryland Militia.

238. An act to prohibit the sale or gift of intoxicating
drinks to negro slaves, and to add an additional section to
Article sixty-six of the Code of Public General Laws, relating
to dealing with slaves.

239. An act to amend section one hundred and eighty-eight
of Article one of the Code of Public Local Laws, for Allegany
county, relating to wild animals in said county.
