LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Sums appro-
priated.

Session of the last Legislature held at Frederick,
four hundred and fifty dollars ; for distributing the
Code of Public Local Laws, one hundred and fifty
dollars ; for engraving certificates of stock of Mary-
land Defence Loan, advertising and other expenses
connected with the issue of said Loan, five thou-
sand dollars ; to Sarah A. McKeever, or her order,
two thousand dollars ; to James Wingate, or order,
one hundred dollars, for preparing index to the
laws passed at the extra Session of eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-one ; and for the preservation of
property and buildings of the Hospital for the In-
sane of this State, to be expended under the direc-
tion of the Governor, ten thousand dollars.

appropriated.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer
of the State shall upon the warrant of the Comp-
troller of the Treasury Department, disburse the
said sums of money thereinbefore appropriated for
the objects and purposes specified, to or upon the
order of the person or persons, bodies politic or
corporate, severally entitled thereto, and that the
several public officers to whom the same, or any
part thereof, may be paid, shall render quarterly
to the Comptroller, accounts of the expenditure
thereof, with the proper vouchers thereof, verified
by affidavit, excepting such part as may be dis-
bursed out of the Executive Contingent Fund,
upon the order of the Governor, or such further
part thereof as may be paid for or on account of

salaries fixed by the constitution and laws of this
State ; to the Treasurer of the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad Company, three thousand seven hundred
and eighty-four dollars, seventeen cents, the sum
advanced by said company, by order of the Gov-
ernor, to defray the expenses of protecting and
guarding certain bridges on said road ; four hun-
dred and twenty-two dollars, to pay J. G. Hen-
ning. Clerk of Circuit. Court of Montgomery county;
N. H. Green, Clerk of Circuit Court of Anne
Arundel county ; Charles S. Middleton, Clerk of
Circuit Court of Prince George's county, William
Gallaway, Clerk of Circuit Court of Harford
county, W. W. Watkins, Clerk of Circuit Court
of Howard county ; R. J. Jump, Clerk of Circuit
Court of Caroline county ; Levin Woolford, Clerk
of Circuit Court of Somerset county ; Daniel Kent,
Clerk of Circuit Court of Calvert county ; J. G.
