AN ACT appropriating a sum of money for the
payment of the claims of Charles Reeder, Philip
T. Tyson, and the estate of Thomas Gardner.
|

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer, to pay Charles Reeder, or order, two
hundred and twenty-two dollars, for services of
steamer Phcenix, in the enforcement of the Oyster
Law ; also to pay Philip T. Tyson, or order, three
hundred dollars, for expenses incurred by him as
State Chemist ; to pay the estate of Thomas Gard-
ner, deceased, one hundred dollars, for services
as keeper of the Hall of Delegates and the Com-
mittee Rooms.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 232.

AN ACT to compensate Edwin H. Webster, Eze-
kiel F. Chambers, William H. Dallam and
Henry Stockbridge, for legal services rendered
by order of the Governor.
|

priated, &c.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and is
hereby directed to issue hif warrant upon the
Treasurer, to pay Edwin H. Webster, or his or-
der, five hundred dollars, for legal services ren-
dered by order of the Governor, in the prosecu-
tion of John Montgomery and John Barnard, for
the murder of Jacob Nichols.
Sec. 2. That the Comptroller be and is hereby
directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer,
to pay Ezekiel F. Chambers, or his order, three
