AN ACT to authorize the Governor to have one
hundred Flint Lock Muskets belonging to the
State, altered to Percussion Lock Muskets, and
to limit the cost thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Governor be and he is
hereby authorized and requested, to contract with
Benjamin Ebert and Son, Gun Smiths in Freder-
ick city, for altering and converting into Percus-
sion Lock Muskets, one hundred Flint Lock Mus-
kets belonging to the State, and now in the pos-
session of Henry Baker and John Baker, Captains

of two companies of Home Guards in Frederick
county ; provided, that the whole cost and expen-
ses thereof, shall not exceed one hundred dollars.

Authority to
pay.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of
this State, is hereby required to pay to the said
Benjamin Ebert and Son, on the warrant of the
Comptroller, the sum of money which the Gover-
nor may contract to pay to the said parties, for al-
tering the said Muskets from Flint Locks to Per-
cussion Locks, as aforesaid, so soon as the said
Henry Baker and John Baker, shall certify to
him that said contract has been fully and prop-
erly executed on their part ; provided, the said
