AN ACT to repeal sections one hundred and sev-
enty-four and one hundred and seventy-five of
Article thirty of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled crimes and punishments, relating
to runaways.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That sections one hundred and
seventy-four and one hundred and seventy-five of
Article thirty of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled crimes and punishments, be and the same
are hereby repealed.
|
Repealed.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That this act shall
lake effect from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 225.
AN ACT to amend section five of Article forty-

two of the Code'of Public General Laws relating
to the office of Governor, and to re-enact the
same.
|

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section five of Article forty-two
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
the office of Governor, be and the same is hereby
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows
|
Amended.
|
5. The Governor may appoint a Private Secre-
tary, who shall hold his office during the pleasure
of the Governor, and shall receive an annual sal-
ary of eight hundred dollars ; the Governor may
also appoint a Messenger to the Executive, who
shall be the keeper of the water closets attached to
the State House, and shall keep the same cleahed,
ventilated and supplied with water, and in every
respect in thorough order, who shall hold his of-
