AN ACT to make an appropriation to compensate
that portion of the Sixteenth Regiment of Mary-
land Militia, which in obedience to an order of His
Excellency, Governor Hicks, performed guard
duty at the State Armory in Frederick, from
April twenty-second to May eleventh, eighteen
hundred and sixty-one, inclusive.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller shall pay to General Ed-
ward Shriver the sum of seventeen hundred and
twenty-nine dollars and eighty-six cents, as pay
for the guard and other military duty performed
by a portion of the Sixteenth Regiment of Mary-
land Militia, under the immediate command of
General Edward Shriver, under the order of the
Governor, at the State Armory at Frederick city,
from April twenty-second, to May eleventh, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-one inclusive, which sum
when received shall be paid over by said General
Edward Shriver, to the officers and men of the
Sixteenth Regiment of Maryland Militia, and to
such other persons as may be entitled to pay, ac-
cording to the schedule and amounts of the pay
roll reported by Samuel Cormack, Acting Adju-
tant of said Regiment, during the rendition of said
service, and a copy of which pay roll shall be filed
in the office of the Adjutant General of the State.
