AN ACT to authorize the Circuit Court for Balti-
more county, to pass a decree empowering the
Guardian of the heirs of Joseph Pearson, Ju-
nior, late of Baltimore county, deceased, to exe-
cute a mortgage for the relief of said heirs.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Circuit Court for Balti-
more county, as a Court of Equity, be and is
hereby authorized to pass a decree, if to said Court
it shall seem expedient and proper so to order and
decree, empowering the Guardian of the said heirs
to raise by deed of mortgage, on the lands belong-
ing to the estate of the said Joseph Pearson, Ju-
nior, a sum of money not exceeding five thousand
dollars, on such terms and conditions as to said
Court may seem right and proper ; and further, to
order and decree the appropriation and use of said
money to such purposes, and in such manner, as to
said Court it shall appear the best interest and the
necessities of said heirs require.

AN ACT to allow Alexander Barker, former Col-
lector of State and County Taxes for the Third
Collection District of Calvert county, further
time to complete his collections.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Alexander Barker, Collector of
State and County Taxes for the Third Collection
District of Calvert county, for the year eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, be and he is hereby au-
thorized and empowered, to collect any and all
