AN ACT to prohibit Swine from running at large,
in the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel
county.
|
Not lawful
for swine to
run at large.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That it shall not be lawful
for any person to allow swine to run at large in
the Fifth Election District of Anne Arundel county.

pounded.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any person
may impound any swine found going at large in
the limits of said district, belonging to any in-
habitant thereof, and the owner of such swine, on
reclaiming the same shall pay at the rate of fifty
cents per head for every twenty-four hours such
swine may have been impounded, and any swine
so impounded shall be advertised by notice in
writing, set up at two of the most public places
in the district.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if any swine
shall remain so impounded for five days after
notice given as aforesaid, the party so impounding
it may sell the same at public sale, after two days
notice as provided in the preceding section , for the
payment of costs and expenses, including the said
fifty cents per day.

Disputes.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That all disputes
arising between the owner of any swine and the
person impounding them, shall be determined by a
Justice of the Peace for said county, who may
summon witnesses and decide the matter in con-
troversy.
