Sec. 2, And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 394.

 

AN ACT further supplementary to an act, enti-
tled an act to revive the act to incorporate the
Humane Impartial Society of the City of Balti-
more, and to change the name of said Corpora-
tion, passed January twenty-eight, eighteen
hundred and fifty, December session eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, chapter thirty -three.

10, 1864.

WHEREAS, the members of the Corporation, en-
titled, the President and Managers of the Balti-
more Humane Impartial Society and Aged Wo-
wan's Home desire to enlarge the sphere of their
benevolent operations in aid of indigent old men
by providing a suitable home for them, as well
as for indigent old women, and to obtain addition-
al corporate powerstand privileges; therefore.

Preamble

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That power is hereby expressly given
to said corporation to employ and relieve indigent
men, and to provide suitable homees for them, as
well as for aged women and to maintain and edu-
cate orphans, and that such are declared hereby
to be the objects, and purposes of said corpora-
tion.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration shall have power to take by gift, devise,
bequest or otherwise, property, real and personal,
additional to that heretofore authorized of the
clear annual value of ten thousand dollars, and
the same to hold, possess, and enjoy, or to lease,
sell, or otherwise, dispose of the same, and that
any devise of bequest, to said corporation shall
not fail to take effect by reason of the misnomer
