and house for keeper thereof, on said road, and to
locate the same at such place as the President and
Directors of said company shall determine, and
the said President and Directors shall appoint the
keeper of the same, who shall be under the control
of and subject to the removal by said President
and Directors, and, the said company shall have
the right to charge and receive the following rates

and tolls from all and every person or persons
using said turnpike road; that is to say: For every
score of sheep, five cents; for every score of hogs,
five cents; for every score of cattle, ten cents; for
every horse, three cents; for all carriages, with one
horse, five cents; carriage with two horses, ten
cents; carriage with four horses, twenty-five cents;
with six horses, thirty cents; for all wagons of
burthen, whose wheels exceed four inches in
breadth, if drawn by two horses, ten cents; if by
four horses, fifteen cents; if by six horses, twenty
cents; if the wheels be less than four inches, it
drawn by two horses, fifteen cents; if by four horses,
twenty cents; if by six horses, thirty cents, which
said rates or tolls shall be paid to the keeper of the
toll gate, for each time sucli sheep, hogs, cattle,
horses, carriage and horse, carriages and horse,
wagons of burthen may be passed through such
toll gate, or may be desired to be passed through;
and the keeper of such gate is hereby authorized
to stop and prevent the passing through such gate
of the same, until the person or persons having
the same in charge, or leading or driving any
horse, cattle, sheep, hogs, wagon, cart, carriage,
sleigh, coach, or any other carriage of pleasure or
burthen or means of conveyance, until they have
respectively paid the toll or rates for the same, as
aforesaid.

Tolls.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That during the con-
struction of the said turnpike road the said com-
pany is hereby granted the right to use the said
old Marsh road, when, in the judgment of the
President and Directors of said company, travel
thereon will work any injury or delay in the
making of said turnpike road.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That after all the
debts due and owing by said company are fully
paid the President and Directors shall make semi-
