and style of the Marsh Turnpike Company, and by
that name shall have succession, and shall have
all the privileges and franchises of or incident to
a corporation, and shall be capable of taki'ng and
holding the said capital stock, and the increase
and profits tlvereof, and of enlarging the same,
from time to time, by new subscriptions, on the
original terms, in such manner and form" as they
think proper, if such enlargement shall be found
necessary to fulfill the intent of this net, together
with all other powers, rights and privileges granted
to the said company by this act.

Stock may
be forfeited.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That if any stock-
holder or subscriber to the capital stock of the said
company shall neglect to pay his, her or their pro-
portion of the said capital stock, at the time and
place required by the. President and Directors of
said company, agreeably to the requirements of
this act, every such stockholder or subscriber to
the said capital stock, his, her or their assignee
shall, in addition to the payment so called for, pay
at the rate of six per centum per month, for every
month such delay or neglect of payment may con-
tinue, recoverable, in the name of the said com-
pany, before a Justice of the Peace or before the
Circuit Court of the said county, as debts are re-
coverable, or the said President and Directors may
declare the said stock so as aforesaid subscribed,
and all payments thereon made, forfeited to the
company; and may sell and dispose of the said
stock to any person or persons, body or bodies
politic, canceling or destroying or declaring void
the old certificate or certificates, and granting new
ones to the said purchasers, who shall, in all re-
spects, have the same rights and privileges, and
be liable to the same responsibilities as original
subscribers to said capital stock.

Authorized to
subscribe.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
missioners for Washington county be and they are
hereby authorized to subscribe for such number of
shares of the capital stock of said company, not
exceeding the sum of two thousand dollars, and to
raise the money to pay for the same as they now
now do for county charges generally.

May erect
toll gate.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That the said com-
pany shall have the right to erect one toll gate,
