which indexy be paid by him oat of the receipts
of his office as other office expenses are now paid-,
and he is further authorized and require on each
day after the adjournment of the Court, to enter in a
book to be provided for that purpose, an index of
each judgment and decree rendered in the said
Court, and to charge and receive ten cents for
each judgment indexed as aforesaid, said fee to be
taxed in the bill of costs of each case in which
judgment is entered, to be collected as other fees
are now collected.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 386.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the claims of Edward A. Talbott, John Evans,
R. B. Porter & Son, Sullivan & Purdy, Magru-
der & Brother, Lurman & Company, Baker,
Holmes & Brown.

Authorized to
issue warrant.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay Edward A. Talbott, late Sheriff
of Howard county, or order, one hundred and fif-
teen dollars and forty-three cents for fines paid
into the Treasury, which was afterwards remitted
by the Governor; John Evans, or order, ninety-
six dollars and thirty cents, for articles furnished
to Audoun's Battery; R. B. Porter & Son, or
order, twenty-one dollars and nineteen cents, for
articles furnished Tobacco Warehouse No. 2;
Sullivan & Purdy, or order, five dollars, for arti-
cles for the use of the House of Delegates; Ma-
gruder & Brother, or order, eighty-eight dollars
and fourteen cents, for articles furnished the Le-
gislature; Lurman & Company, or order, one
hundred and sixty-five dollars and thirty-five
