AN ACT to add a new section to Article six, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Caro-
line county," relating to Justices of the Peace
and Constables.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following section to au-
thorize Justices of the Peace of Caroline county,
to hand over to their successors in office, their
dockets, papers, accounts, and all other papers in
their possession relating to the judgments on their
dockets, or upon which suits have been instituted,
or ordered, be added to the Code of Public Local
Laws, entitled, "Caroline county," to be arranged
under the head of Justices of the Peace and Con-
stables in said A rticle

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That when any Jus-
tice of the Peace shall resign, or be removed from
office, he shall deliver his docket together with all
notes, bonds, accounts, and papers, in his posses-
sion appertaining to judgments, or suits entered
thereon, to his successor in office, within thirty
days after such resignation, or removal; if any
Justice dies, the delivery aforesaid, shall be made
by his administrator, or other person in whose
hands, the said docket, and papers may be, or
come, within thirty days after receiving them.

take effect from its passage.
