CHAPTER 310.

9, 1864.

AN ACT providing for repairs of the State
House.

Sum appro-
priated.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sura of four thousand dol-
lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be
appropriated for painting the State House, and for
altering and furnishing the Adjutant General's
room, the same to be done under the direction and
supervision of the Adjutant General.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 311.

9, 1864.

AN ACT to amend Article twenty-nine of the
Public Genei al Laws on the subject of the Courts,
by the addition of a section relating to the con-
fession of Judgments.

Additional
section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Article twenty-nine of the
Public General Laws on the subject of Courts be,
and the same is hereby amended by the addition
of the following section to follow the fifteenth section
of said article :

Judgments to
be considered
interlocutory.

All judgments confessed on terms to be filed, and
all judgments confessed without fixing the amount
of the same, and where no cause of action is filed
by which said amount may be ascertained, shall
be considered interlocutory judgments, and the
Court shall on motion of the plaintiff or his attor-
ney at any term subsequent to the entry of any
such confession of judgment order an inquisition or
cause the judgment to be extended as in other cases
of interlocutory judgments, or as upon a judgment
by default.
