AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Charles
county to levy a sum of money to open and
straighten Port Tobacco Run.
|

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commission-
ers for Charles county, be and they are hereby au-
thorized and empowered, at their discretion, to
levy on the taxable property of said county, a sura
of money not to exceed six hundred dollars, to be
expended, or so much of it as shall be necessary
to the opening and straightning of a stream, at
Port Tobacco, known by the name of Port Tobacco
Run; and,

to levy tax.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 300.

AN ACT entitled, An act to authorize and direct
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Caroline coun-
ty to set over the judgment, and execution on
said judgment, in the said court, in favor of the
State of Maryland, against James H. Barwick,
late Collector of State Taxes for Caroline coun-
ty, to the use of James Swan, James Pippin,
Jr., William C. Satterfield, Robert Anthony,
Elijah Towers, James T. Richardson and Ben
jamin A. Richardson.
