Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to amend the fourth Article of the Code
of Public Local Laws, by adding thereto certain
sections, authorizing the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore, to endorse or guarantee the
second mortgage bonds of the Western Mary-
land Rail Road Company to an amount not ex-
ceeding three hundred thousand dollars.

guarantee.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore, be and they are hereby empower-
ed to endorse or guarantee the payment of the
principal and interest upon the second mortgage
bonds of the Western Maryland Rail Road Com-
pany, to an amount not exceeding in the aggre-
gate, the sum of three hundred thousand dollars,
in such manner and form as they, the said Mayor
and City Council may deern best; and any ordi-
nance heretofore passed by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, for such purpose, is hereby
declared to be valid, and the said Mayor and City
Council, may at any time hereafter, exercise the
remainder of their authority, so as to endorse or
guarantee such second mortgage bonds as they
may deem proper.
