AN ACT to alter and change the name of David
Mertzs, of Baltimore county, to the name of Da-
vid Henry McComas.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the passage of
this act the name of David Mertzs, of Baltimore
county, be and the same is hereby altered and
changed to that of David Henry McComas, and it
shall and may be lawful for the said David Mertzs
at all times hereafter to be called and known by,
and to hold and to use this name of David Henry
McComas, and by that name to purchase, hold,
sell, contract, convey or devise, and sue and be
sued in any court of law or equity.

AN ACT to add an additional section to Article
fourteen of the Public Local Laws of Kent coun-
ty, relating to Chestertown, and to provide for
the appointment of a Collectoi of the Corpora-
tion Tax of Chestertown, in Kent county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Commissioners of Chester-
town may appoint the Collector of Taxes for Kent
county, or of the district of which Chestertown
forms a part, to collect the corporation tax of said
town, from time to time, and that the Collector
thus appointed shall be bound to give bond and
collect the said taxes according to the terms and
provisions of said forty-seventh section, under the
penalty of fifty dollars, to be recovered by indict-
ment by the Grand Jury and judgment of the Cir-
cuit Court for Kent county, as in ordinary cases of
punishment, and that the said Collector shall re-
