LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 270.

Passed Mar.
8, 1864.

AN ACT entitled, an act to authorize and empow-
er the Commissioners, appointed by the Circuit
Court of Queen Ann's County, to divide the
real estate of John Hendrix, late of said county
deceased, to convey to the purchaser, the legal
title to said lands.

SECTION 1. B e it enacted ly the General Assem-
of Maryland, That John Brown, David H. Crane
and John R. Carville, or the survivors or survivor
of them, commissioners appointed by the Circuit
Court of Queen Ann's county, on the petition of
John W. Hendrix, to divide the real estate in said
county, of John Hendrix, late of Queen Ann's
county, deceased, be and they, or the survivors or
survivor of them, are hereby authorized and em-
powered to convey by deed, to be duly executed
and acknowledged according to law, the legal title
to a farm or tract of land in Queen Ann's county
aforesaid, containing two hundred and forty-three
acres three roods and three perches of land more or
less, formerly the property of Anna Maria Brice, de-
ceased, and afterwards the property of John Hen-
drix, also deceased, to Samuel E. Baker, of Kent

county, his heirs and assigns; provided, that the
said commissioners, or the survivors or survivor of
them, shall first be satisfied, that the said lands
have been paid for to the heirs at law and persons
entitled to the proceeds of sale of the said lands
as the property of the said Anna Maria Brice, and
sold by commissioners, to the said John Hendrix,
and also, that the heirs at law of the said John
Hendrix, (deceased,) or the guardian for the minor
heirs of said John Hendrix, shall have been paid
for their respective proportion, of the sale of said
lands by the commissioners appointed by the said
court to divide said John Hendrix's real estate.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
