AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to enable
the Comptroller to pay such sum, if any, as may
be found to be due Frank H. Stockett.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it is stated to this General Assembly,
That a certain Frank H. Stockett has a claim
against the State of Maryland under the provi-
sions of the eleventh section of Article sixty-six of
the Code of Public General Laws, and that the
Comptroller refuses to pay the said claim, believing
that he has no right to do so, under the twentieth
section of Article three of the Constitution, until
money is appropriated by the Legislature out of
which to pay the same; therefore,

to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of one thousand dol-
lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be
and the same hereby is appropriated for the pay-
ment by the Comptroller of such sum as shall be
found to be due, if any, to the said Frank H. Stock-
ett, under the provisions of the said eleventh sec-
tion of Article sixty-six of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
