fifty-six, with interest from the time the said work
was completed.

Authorized to
borrow money.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of complying with the provision of the first section
of this act the said Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore are hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow money, or issue bonds or certificates of in-
debtedness of said city, and levy a tax for the re-
demption of the same, in the same manner as they
are now authorized by law to levy taxes for city
purposes.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal the three hundred and seventy-
fifth and three hundred and ninety-sixth section
of Article four of the Code of Public Local Laws
entitled, City of Baltimore, and relating to the In-
spection, Weighing and Measurement of Grain,
and to enact supplements thereto.

Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section three hundred and sev-
enty-five and three hundred and ninety-six of
Article four of the Code of Public Local Laws en-
titled, City of Baltimore, relating to the inspection,
weighing and measurement of grain, be and the
same are hereby repealed.

weighed.
|
Sec. 2. Be it enacted. That all grain arriving in
the city of Baltimore must be reported to the Grain
Inspector's office, whether by steamers, sail ves-
sels of all descriptions, barges, canal boats, and it
shall be the duty of the Inspector General of Grain
to have weighed all grain carried to said city for
sale except grain carried to the city in wagons or
carts, or railroad cars; the inspection, but not the
