AN ACT to repeal the two hundred and ninety-
second section of the twenty-first Article of the
Code of Public Local Laws relating to the
Sheriff of Washington county, and to re-enact
the same, with amendments thereto.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the two hundred and ninety-
second section of the twenty-first Article of the
Code of Public Local Laws relating to the Sheriff
of Washington county, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and the following be and the same is
hereby enacted as a substitute therefor:

Repealed.

292. The Sheriff of said county shall be enti-
tled to thirty-five cents per day for keeping each
prisoner that may be confined in the jail of said
county.

Compensation.
|
|
Sec...2 And be it enacted, That thia law shall
go into effect immediately after its passage, and
shall be and remain in force until the end of the
next regular session of the General Assembly of
this State.

AN ACT to make valid, the procedingg of County
Commissioners in borrowing money heretofore
to pay bounties, and empowering them to levy
taxes therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the acts and proceedings of the
County Commissoners of the several counties in
borrowing money before the first day of January,
eigh teen hundred and sixty-four , and issuing
bonds, flutes .or- securities therefor, for the -pur-
pose of paying bounties to volunteers, or for the
