AN ACT to amend the first and second sections
of article twelve of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled Banks, and to repeal the third,
fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, ninth and nineteenth
sections of the same article.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That sections one and two of article
twelve of the Code of Public General Laws, en-
titled Banks, be amended and re-enacted, so as to
read as follows: The several banks . of this State
now having authority to issue notes, be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to issue
twenty per cent. of their capital stock actually
paid in, in notes of a less denomination than five
dollars, but no note shall be issued of a less de-
nomination than one dollar, and nothing herein
shall be construed to enlarge the total .amount of
the notes to be issued by any bank beyond what is
now allowed by law.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That sections three,
four, five, six, eight, nine and nineteen of article
twelve of the Code of Public General Laws, en-
titled "Banks," be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

AN ACT to provide for transcribing one of the
Record Books in the office of the Register of
Wills for Allegany county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Register of Wills for Alle-
gany county be and he is hereby required, if the
Judges of the Orphans' Court shall deem it neces-
sary, to procure a new book, well bound for that
purpose, and to transcribe therein, in a fair, plain
