CHAPTER 128.

Passed Mar.
7, 1864.

AN ACT to add a new "Section to the eighty-
fourth Article of the Code of Public General
Laws of this State relating to Schools.

Authorized
to pay.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of thia State
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, shall here-
after pay annually on the first day of April of
every year, succeeding the passage of this act, to
the County Commissioners of the several coun-
ties hereafter mentioned, the sum of four hundred
dollars respectively to be applied by said County
Commissioners to the Public School fund of their
respective counties, the same being in addition to
the sum now received by said counties for school
purposes, to-wit: to Allegany county, Baltimore
county, Carroll county, Calvert county, Cecil
county, Caroline county, Charles county, St.
Mary's county, Harford, county, Howard county,
Prince George's county. Queen Ann's county,
Somerset county, Talbot county, Worcester coun-
ty, and Washington county, each the aforesaid
sum of four hundred dollars.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
