A. W. BRADFORD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

scriptions, gifts, devices and bequests of real and
personal property and is empowered to purchase,
lease or hire, real and personal estate, to be used
and applied to the use of said corporation, and to
dispose of any part of its property either by sale
or otherwise, but the property held by said corpo-
ration at any one time shall not exceed in clear an-
nual value ten thousand dollars.

ISec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 127.

 

AN ACT to amend an act passed at December
session eighteen hundjed and fourteen entitled,
"An act to incorporate a Company to make a
Turnpike Road from the square in the town of
Boonsboro', in Washington county, to Swear-
ingen's Ferry on the Potomac river," to change
the corporate name of said company and for
other purposes.

Passed Mar.

7, 1864.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, T.hat the corporate name of the
President, Managers and Company, pf the Boons-
boro' Turnpike Road Company, be and the same
is hereby changed to that of " The Boonsboro' and
Sharpsburg Turnpike Road Company," and that
the same shall be as valid and effectual to all in-
tents and purposes as if it had been so named in
the original charter of said company.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That said company
shall have full power and authority to locate their
toll house and gate nearest to Sharpsburg at any
