as will be most beneficial to the stockholders of the
said company; provided, however, that such lease
or renting shall be approved by a majority of the
stockholders convened to consider the same.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 64.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the claims of James Pritchard, Paul Martin,
Sisco & Bro., R. J. Gittiugs, McDowell, Robin-
son & Co.

Authorized
to pay.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he
is hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay James Pritchard, the sum of two
dollars for work and material furnished Lieutenant
Governor's room; Paul Martin, fifty-seven dollars
for ice furnished the House of Delegates from the
first day of February to the twentieth day of
March, eighteen hundred and sixty-four; Sisco &
Brothers, three hundred and eight dollars for flags
furnished House of Delegates; R. J. Grittings, or
his order, for professional services six hundred
dollars as compensation in full in the case of the
State of Maryland against the President, Mana-
gers and company of the Washington and Balti-
more Turnpike Road, in the Superior Court of
Baltimore city, the Court of Appeals of Maryland,
and the Supreme Court of the United States;
McDowell, Robinson & Co., twelve hundred and
ninety-four dollars and fifty cents for carpeting,
mats and matting, &c., furnished the House of
Delegates.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
affect from the date of its passage.
