any of the warehouses belonging to this State,
before the date of the passage of this act.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 195.

AN ACT to release certain claims of the State
against Collectors, Sheriffs and others, to dis-
continue the suits instituted for the recovery
thereof.

Claims re-
leased.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, upon the recommendation of the
Comptroller of the Treasury and of the Treasurer,
That the following claims due from Collectoresand
Sheriffs, now standing on the books of the Trea,-
surer, he and the same and ares hereby released, and all
suits instituted for the recovery thereof, be and the
same are hereby directed to be discontinued, namely,
claims against James Twigg, Collecter of State
taxes in Allegany county, for eighteen hundred
and forty-six, for five hundred and seven dollars
and eighty-six cents ; claims against Benjamin T.
Pin die, Collector of State taxes in Anne Arundel
county, for eighteen hundred and forty-one and
eighteen hundred and forty-two, for two thousand
three hundred and eighteen dollars and ninety-
five cents; claim against Benjamin T. Pindle, Sheriff
of Anne Arundel county for eighteen hundred and
forty-four, for four hundred and two dollars and
sixty-three cents; claim, against John H. Naff, late
auctioneer in Baltimore city for two hundred and
forty-three dollars and seventy-six cents; claim
against John J. Gross, late auctioneer in Balti-
more city, for two hundred and twenty-three
dollars, and sixty-two cents; claim against Harri-
son Dawes, late auctioneer in Baltimore city, for
one hundred dollars and thirteen cents; claim
