LAWS OF MARYLAND,
the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
sixty-seven, the following sums of money, or go
much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same
is hereby appropriated, that is to say :

For the salary of the Governor of Maryland,
four thousand dollars ; for the salary of the Secre-
tary of State, one thousand dollars ; for the salary
of the Comptroller of the Treasury Department,
twenty-five hundred dollars ; for the salary of the
Chief Clerk to the Comptroller, fifteen hundred
dollars ; for the salary of the First Assistant Clerk
to Comptroller, twelve hundred dollars; for the
salary of the Second Assistant Clerk to the Comp-
troller, one thousand dollars ; for the salary of the
Treasurer, twenty-five hundred dollars; for the
salary of the Chief Clerk to the Treasurer, fifteen
hundred dollars ; for the salary of the Private Sec-
retary to the Governor, eight hundred dollars; for
the Commissioner of the Land Office, two thousand
dollars ; for the salary of the State Librarian, fif-
teen hundred dollars; to the State Superintendent
of Public Instruction, twenty-five hundred dollars;

For the salaries of the five Judges of the Court of
Appeals, three thousand dollars each, fifteen thou-
sand dollars ; for the salaries of the Judges of the
first twelve Circuits of this State, twenty-five hun-
dred dollars each, thirty thousand dollars ; for the
salary of the Judge of the Superior Court of Balti-
more city, three thousand dollars ; for the salary
of the Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, of
Baltimore city, three thousand dollars ; for the
salary of the Judge of the Criminal Court for Bal-
timore city, three thousand dollars ; for the salary
of the Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore
city, three thousand dollars ; for the salary of the
Attorney General, twenty-five hundred dollars;
for Special Judges, appointed in pursuance of sec-
tion eight of Article four of the Constitution, three
thousand dollars ; for commissions to Attorneys,
five thousand dollars ; to the Sheriff and Crier of
he Court of Appeals, fifteen hundred dollars; for
