Preamble.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of Article twenty-six,
sections ten, &c., of the Public General Laws of
Maryland, Gottfried W. Noedel, August Watten-
scheidt, Henry Meyer, Charles Pracht, John Lorz,
William F. Bissing, William Eckhart and Wil-
liam Mehler, have associated together and by
complying with all the requirements of the said
twenty-sixth Article, have acquired the privileges
and immunities of a body corporate, under the
name of the Concordia, of the city of Baltimore ;
and whereas, by the fifteenth section of said Arti-
cle any corporation formed under the provisions of
the aforesaid Article is prohibited from holding
or possessing property worth more than fifty thou-
sand dollars; and whereas, the said body corporate
is about to erect for useful purposes a building,
the value of which may exceed the said sum of
fifty thousand dollars ; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said Society — the Con-
cordia, of the city of Baltimore, be and the same
is hereby authorized and allowed to acquire and
to hold or possess property, the value of which
shall not exceed the sum of two hundred thousand
dollars.
