CHAPTER 159.

 

AN ACT to add an additional Article to the Code
of Public General Laws, with the title "Regis-
tration."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That there shall be added to the
Code of Public General Laws, a new Article,
bearing the title "Registration," under which
shall be arranged by titles and sections, as in other
Articles of said Code, the laws to be made by the
General Assembly on the subjects of the Registry of
Births, Marriages, Deaths and Voters, as required
in Article third of the Constitution, sections forty-
one and forty-nine, and such other subjects of
Registration as the Legislature may enact and
direct.

CHAPTER 160.

 

AN ACT to add a new Article to the Code of
Public General Laws, to be entitled "Public
Instruction," providing a uniform system of
Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland,
and to repeal all existing laws inconsistent
therewith.

24, 1866.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That there shall be a uniform
system of Free Public Schools according to the
provisions of this act, in each county of the State
and in every city now incorporated or which may
hereafter be incorporated, and the provisions of
this law shall be added to the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws under the title "Public Instruction."
