sixty dollars, or such compensation as is paid by
the State for other beneficiaries per annum, be
and the same is hereby appropriated for that pur-
pose, for the space of three years from the date of
the passage of this act, or, the time at which he
commences his studies, and that the Treasurer of
the State pay the said sum of one hundred and
sixty dollars, or such compensation as is paid by
the State for other beneficiaries per annum, in
semi-annual instalments, upon the order of the
Comptroller, payable to the President or Superin-
tendent of the Columbia Institution for the in-
struction of the deaf and dumb and the blind, out
of any unappropriated funds in the Treasury, the
said semi-annual payments to commence in six
months after the said McAtee is received into said
institution.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to declare the assent of the Legislature
of Maryland to the devises and bequests of John
L. Ziegler, late of Baltimore city, deceased, to
the Trustees of the Benevolent Society of the
United Brethren in Christ, for missionary pur-
poses in said church, and also to the German
Evangelical Reformed Church, in the City of
Baltimore, and also to the Trustees or Board of
the Benevolent Society of the United Brethren
in Christ, in Hagerstown.

WHEREAS, a certain John L. Ziegler, late of Bal-
timore city, deceased, did by hie last will and tes-
tament, in writing, bearing date on the sixth day
of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, and
now of record in the office of the Register of Wills
of said city, in Liber N. H., No. twenty-five, folio
