as required to be made annually by the by-laws of

said corporation, or to fill vacancies occasioned by
death, resignation or any other cause; provided,
that the term for which officers so elected to fill
vacancies shall expire on the day after the one
fixed for holding of annual elections by the by-laws
of said corporation; and, provided also, that where
the Burgess and Commissioners, or the person
authorized by them to give notice of said election,
neglect or refuse to give said notice, it shall be
held to be a legal notice for such elections, if given
by a Justice of the Peace residing in said corpora-
tion.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day cf its passage.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act passed at January
session, eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chap-
ter two hundred and forty-six, entitled, an act
to incorporate the Potomac Mining Company,
by creating additional corporators, and authoriz-
ing a division of the stock of said company, and
extending to the heirs, devises and legal repre-
sentatives of James Swan and Duff Green the
benefits of said act.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, that one of the corporators named in
the Act of Assembly above referred to, namely,
James Swan, has departed this life, and that all
of the other corporators therein named are either
dead or non-residents of this State; now, therefore,

rights, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the surviving corporators
named in said act, and John Swan, William F.
Frick, Thomas W. Berry, George R. Cinnamond,
